As one of the few DukeEngage programs that moves around our community as a group, we had to spend a lot of time together in our big red/white van, especially when we often got stuck in the infamous SoCal traffic. But from these close quarters arose close friendships and a very clear song of the summer, “New Light” by John Mayer.
Although DukeEngage Orange County is officially over, we invite you to reminisce with us on our summer living and working just outside of “The Happiest Place on Earth.” From making flashlights to teaching about healthy relationships, this experience has inspired many of us to now see education and female empowerment in a New Light.
