The Nova Scotia Centre on Aging will be presented the 2017 Award for Excellence in Applied Research at this year’s Global Ageing Network/CURAVIVA Global Ageing Conference taking place in September in Montreux, Switzerland. This team worked in partnership with a DukeEngage Independent Project, designed by Alexis Shindhelm during the summer of 2017. The student, now a senior pursuing a BioMedical Engineering and Global Health degree, was a contributor on the C.A.R.E. Tool Project—one of the two programs for which the research is being recognized.
