Hi, my name is Jamie Karl, and I am participating in this year’s DukeEngage New Orleans program. I am from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and I am a rising junior, studying biology. I am working at the American Red Cross this summer along with three other Duke interns. We install fire alarms in people’s homes and speak to students about emergency preparedness.
