Storytelling workshop with Leah Torrey

2024 DukeEngage Participants: Sign up for a storytelling workshop with Leah Torrey, the mastermind behind Duke’s brilliant Say the Thing project, to talk about what makes a story sing, do some thinking about which moments in your DukeEngage experience best depict what insights you gained, and start to play around with ways to tell that story. 

You don’t have to participate in a storytelling workshop to pitch an oral story idea for the contest—but it might help. (If your idea is selected, you’ll participate in a few 1:1 coaching sessions in preparation for filming your story and/or presenting it at the Fall Reunion!) Note: There is also a workshop on September 22nd, with local celebrity(ish) Jeff Polish (who coached and emceed our storytellers at the Spring Convocation) of Durham’s the Monti. Sign up for whichever workshop works better with your schedule!
