DukeEngage: Statements of Gratitude

Did you know that DukeEngage is 100 percent funded by philanthropy? That’s right, hundreds of Duke (and DukeEngage!) alumni, parents, and friends generously support the program each year. Want to thank them? Here’s your chance!

Your statement could be included in the DukeEngage annual report, on our website or social media channels, or in communications to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Duke Endowment, and other high-profile organizations and individuals. YOUR stories of impact are the heart of why DukeEngage exists — and why it will continue to attract financial support in the future.

Just choose a topic below and start writing. When you’re done (a few sentences or a few pages; no minimums or requirements!), email it to DukeEngage with the subject line GRATITUDE.

Choose a topic:

  • what you worked on, what you accomplished, and why it matters
  • who made your experience meaningful and why
  • how the summer impacted you and how it might influence your future

Don’t forget to include:

  • your name
  • your program
  • your major (if declared)
  • a head shot or photo from your program (if you have one)
