What began in the summer of 2007 with pilot international group programs in Kenya, South Africa and Yemen, has evolved today into roughly 40 programs in partnership with communities on nearly every continent.
DukeEngage provides full funding for select Duke undergraduates who wish to pursue an immersive summer of service in partnership with a U.S. or international community. As of summer 2015, more than 3,200 Duke students have volunteered more than 1 million hours through DukeEngage, serving more than 600 community organizations in 18 U.S. cities and in 69 nations on six continents.
New in Summer 2016: A group program in Kochi, India and a group program in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Returning in 2016: Two popular programs from the past are back on the list this year. The DukeEngage-Beirut program and the DukeEngage-Tanzania-LTP program are returning for summer 2016.
