This week flew by! On Monday we continued developing our lesson plans. We gathered materials and prepared power points and activities for the girls. Tuesday morning we went to the police station very early in the morning so we could do the Live Scan and have our fingerprints taken (a requirement by Girls Inc.) After that we met with some of the high school girls doing an internship program with Girls Inc. We helped them with their resumes and prepare for a mock interview they would do the following day. On Thursday we went shopping for any and all supplies we would need for our lesson plans. We then met with the high school girls again for “College Mentoring Speed Dating”. It was really great to be able to answer all of their questions that they had about college and the application process. I hope they feel a little bit more at ease after our session! Unfortunately, Thursday was Marlee’s (our program director) last day with us. I know we will all miss her a lot and I hope she will be able to come back to see us again before the program ends.
