Dear WeVote staff,
Thank you for welcoming me in. From the moment I joined the team, I have felt that my opinion was valued and my voice was heard. Thank you for including me in conversations about decisions that will affect WeVote well beyond my time here. Thank you for both working alongside me and for allowing me the freedom and space to learn how to hold myself accountable for my work. I have learned a great deal about balancing collaboration and individual responsibility through working with you all.
Thank you for pushing me beyond my comfort zone. I have learned so much more than I expected to in these 8 weeks, and I am much better equipped for the future because of it. Thank you for being willing to teach me new skills that will serve me well in future endeavors and for truly investing in my growth and learning. I did not anticipate learning about data analytics or marketing this summer, but I am so glad that you all gave me that opportunity. I had never been exposed to those fields before and now intend on continuing to learn more about them. Thank you for encouraging me to branch out and learn by doing.
Thank you for allowing me to help others participate in our political system. I have learned so much about voter education and turnout. I never realized how difficult it is to find information to make informed voting decisions, particularly in rural local races. The work you all are doing to make this information more accessible is so important and will strengthen our democracy for years to come. WeVote has taught me to think outside the box and work to solve social problems rather than wait for them to be fixed. I can’t believe that 8 weeks have gone by, and I am excited to continue to work with you all for the rest of the summer.
