John Lu ’17 was recently named one of this years 43 Marshall Scholars, two of which are Duke Undergraduates and one of which is a Duke alumni. the Marshall Scholars award grants students the resources to engage in post graduate studies in the UK, with eligibility to pursue any university and any field. Lu intends to study for a year at both London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Cambridge, earning a one-year master of science degree in health policy, planning and finances followed by a year of research toward a master’s in philosophy in biochemistry at the institutions, respectively. We hope that his work in Ghana during his 2016 DukeEngage Independent Project on immunization policy will prove helpful in his endeavors, and are excited to see what this next journey has in store for him.
