Duke University offers outstanding support for a variety of popular career paths, including finance, medicine, technology and consulting, and each year the Career Center expertly assists students and alumni in securing hundreds of high-profile positions around the world. Duke undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni who are interested in alternative career paths, however, particularly those interested in the public or “third” sector, have told us they’d appreciate additional career-seeking resources, inspirational role models, and professional networking opportunities.
DU.Good.Work is a collaborative new event designed to supplement the existing, robust career services on campus by further showcasing the efforts and accomplishments of Duke students, faculty and alumni whose careers and lives contribute to the public good. Organized by DukeEngage and Duke’s Office of Civic Engagement, in collaboration with dozens of offices and people from departments across campus, the event will launch in the spring of 2020.
The pressing issues of our time demand the best possible leaders and thinkers at local, regional and global levels. DU.Good.Work will encourage Duke Students and alumni to use their knowledge in service to society, to contribute to the greater good, and to make the world a better place.
