Beaufort Wetlands

In 2011, DukeEngage made its way to the Duke campus in Beaufort, North Carolina as part of a project geared toward water quality improvements. The team was working to formulate a greater understanding of how to make a potent impact on urbanization, storm water management and ecological degradation of streams. Students participated in engineering and implementing restorative designs within watersheds, sud-basins, and

These particular images depict the site of the Beaufort project, where students designed and constructed a wetland. The beauty and success area seems to illustrate the impact DukeEngage can leave on it’s community, even years later.
