Where are the Men in Civic Engagement?

For the last few months, some of our DukeEngage staff have been part of a working group that’s tried to answer the question, “When it comes to civic engagement, where are the men?” Oftentimes, DukeEngage programs skew heavily towards female-identified participants. We want to talk about why.
Join us for a conversation about where our male-identified students are hiding as we explore topics such as the meaning of civic engagement, why alums chose to become involved, and how we can reach more students who are not currently engaged.
This event is open to all students, not just male-identified. A number of US-based DukeEngage program leaders and alums will be present to help steer the conversation.
