Major: International Comparative Studies and Cultural Anthropology: concentration in Latin America & Caribbean Certificate in Latino Studies Global South

Maya Yvette-Lofton is a double International Comparative Studies (focus: Latin America and the Caribbean) and Cultural Anthropology major with a certificate in Latino Studies Global South in her second year at Duke. As an Afro Latina with Guatemalan roots, Maya took part in the DukeEngage program to Antigua, Guatemala in the summer of 2019. During this summer, she worked in business consulting and improved communication skills and company relations. She plans to join the Diplomatic Corps and become a foreign service officer and diplomat following her studies. Instagram: maya_yvette
