Harshita Devisetty is a sophomore who is from Bangalore, India. She aspires to become a surgeon with a biomedical engineering background, and has a passion for health education. With DukeEngage Kenya-WISER, she worked on spreading sexual reproductive health awareness, and was involved in teaching subjects such as writing and typing to the high school students at WISER. The program enhanced Harshita’s cross-cultural communications skills, as well as her ability to view problems from a local perspective though hands-on experience.The past summer has helped her further her interests, and she hopes to continue to involve herself in similar experiences in the future.
