Eritrea Temesghen is a Trinity sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee. She has a background in community organizing in her hometown and wishes to pursue her passion for social change through the Public Policy program at Duke. She was a participant in the DukeEngage program in Miami, which focuses on strengthening immigrant communities through legal advocacy. After returning from her time there, she is now looking into public interest law as a possible career to advocate for marginalized individuals, such as asylum-seekers and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Eritrea’s Six Word Story describing her experience:

“You can’t speak Spanish? How un-American.”
