Homecoming by Yaa Gyasi
Ovarian Psychos – this is a film about a biker club of Latina women in Los Angeles. It brings the ability to see how flawed descriptions of certain things are i.e. calling it a gang because it only contains women of color. Also, it shows strong women standing up for their beliefs.
Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List – the film shows various areas that will be prominent while living near Washington Square Park in NYC, and it’s interesting to see areas you’ll become accustomed to. It also helps to understand that you’ll be able to learn your way around even if it confusing at first.
North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence – A non-profit organization focused on ending domestic violence and work with survivors.
Tropical Picken Chicken – Puerto Rican, Dominican and Cuban restaurant that serves food similar to what I ate when those I worked with cooked for me.
