Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship recently interviewed two DukeEngage alum about their social venture, “Project Sapana,” which stemmed from their DukeEngage independent project. Jiakun Xu and Xin Tong Lim traveled to Nagarkot, Nepal after their freshman year, to teach English to secondary school children. After noticing many students’ lack of access to school lunches, the two returned to Duke driven to address the issue. “Project Sapana” aims to increase access to school lunches for students in Nagarkot, ultimately motivating them to attend school regularly with energy and focus.
