Key Dates and Deadlines for 2012-13

**Please note that Round 1 includes international group programs.  Round 2 includes domestic group programs, independent projects and any study abroad hybrid group programs we are offering.

AUGUST

25 - Orientation Sessions for First-Year Students

SEPTEMBER

5 - DukeEngage Fall Information Sessions begin (See full schedule here)

7 - Back at Duke Event (Summer 2012 participants and prospective DukeEngage applicants) - 5-6:30 pm, Kirby Horton Hall, Doris Duke Center, Sarah P. Duke Gardens

OCTOBER

1 - Group sites announced, application goes live

22-26 -  DukeEngage Week - International / Independent (learn more about international programs, independent project design and the application process)

NOVEMBER

6 - Round 1 application deadline (international group programs) at 12 noon EST

7 - Round 1 application reading and interview period begins (through Dec. 1)

DECEMBER

1 - Round 1 application reading and interview ends

5 - Round 1 student acceptance notification

11  - Statement of Intent due from Round 1 students (by 12 noon EST)

JANUARY

14-17 -  DukeEngage Week - Domestic (learn more about domestic programs and the application process)

22 - Round 2 application deadline (domestic group programs, independent projects, study abroad hybrid programs) at 12 noon EST

23 - Round 2 application reading and interview period (through Feb. 16)

15-17 - Round 1 students DukeEngage registration sessions, Smith Warehouse

FEBRUARY

1 - Round 2 application reading and interview period continues 

22 - Round 2 student acceptance notification

28 - Statement of Intent due from Round 2 students (by 12 noon EST)

MARCH

19-21 - Round 2 students DukeEngage registration sessions, Smith Warehouse

Throughout – Mandatory pre-service workshops led by program directors (two to be held before DukeEngage Academy)

APRIL

Throughout – Mandatory pre-service workshops led by program directors (two to be held before DukeEngage Academy)

MAY

6-7 - DukeEngage Academy

SUMMER  

DukeEngage summer programs and projects take place (eight-week minimum; travel and program dates vary)
