An exhibition, "Madison County Stories", will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, from 6-9 pm in the Frederic Jameson Gallery on Duke's East Campus (Friedl Building). The event features a talk by noted documentary photographer Rob Amberg and a performance of mountain ballad singing.
Rob Amberg's photographs from Madison County, North Carolina—home of the DukeEngage in Hot Springs program—reveal from the inside the lives of mountain people as they wrestle with the economic and social changes that are reshaping Appalachia. This exhibition of photographs and digital stories looks at life in Madison County through the eyes of Amberg, local adolescent youth and Duke undergraduate students.
